1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:
- "We," "Us," "Our," "coraliira" refers to the batik art retreat service operated from 45 Jalan Kampung Cina, Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia
- "You," "Your," "Participant" refers to any individual booking or attending our retreat programs
- "Services" refers to our batik workshop experiences, cultural retreats, and associated offerings
- "Website" refers to our online presence at coraliirad.cyou
- "Agreement" refers to these Terms and Conditions along with any booking confirmations
2. Acceptance of Terms
By booking a retreat, using our website, or participating in our programs, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
You must be at least 18 years of age to book a retreat. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who accepts these terms on their behalf.
3. Service Description
coraliira offers batik art retreat experiences in Terengganu, Malaysia, including:
- One-day batik workshops with master artisan instruction
- Three-day cultural immersion programs combining batik with other traditional crafts
- Seven-day comprehensive east coast creative retreats
All retreat details, including itineraries, accommodations, meals, and cultural activities, are described on our website. We reserve the right to make minor adjustments to programs while maintaining the overall quality and educational value.
4. Booking and Registration
4.1 Booking Process
To book a retreat, you must:
- Complete the booking form with accurate personal information
- Provide dietary requirements and accessibility needs if applicable
- Pay the required deposit or full retreat fee
- Receive booking confirmation via email
4.2 Booking Confirmation
Your booking is confirmed only upon receipt of payment and our email confirmation. We recommend booking at least three weeks in advance to ensure availability, particularly for multi-day retreats.
4.3 Group Sizes
All retreats are limited to 6-8 participants to maintain instruction quality. Bookings are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
5. Payment Terms
5.1 Pricing
All prices are listed in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and include:
- Batik instruction and materials (premium fabrics, wax, dyes)
- Meals as specified in the retreat description
- Accommodations for multi-day retreats
- Local transportation during the retreat
- Cultural site visits and additional workshop sessions
5.2 Payment Methods
We accept payment via bank transfer, credit card, or online payment platforms. Full payment is required for one-day workshops. Multi-day retreats require a 50% deposit at booking with the balance due 14 days before the retreat start date.
5.3 Currency and Exchange Rates
If paying in a currency other than MYR, exchange rates are determined by the payment processor at the time of transaction. We are not responsible for currency fluctuations or international transaction fees charged by your bank.
6. Cancellation and Refund Policy
6.1 Participant Cancellations
- More than 14 days before retreat: Full refund minus 10% administrative fee
- 7-14 days before retreat: 50% refund
- Less than 7 days before retreat: No refund, though we will attempt to reschedule to a future date subject to availability
6.2 coraliira Cancellations
In the rare event that we must cancel a retreat due to insufficient bookings, instructor illness, or unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative date.
6.3 Force Majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, or public health emergencies. In such cases, we will work with participants to reschedule or provide appropriate refunds.
7. Participant Responsibilities
7.1 Conduct
Participants are expected to:
- Treat instructors, staff, and fellow participants with respect
- Follow safety instructions and workshop guidelines
- Arrive punctually for scheduled activities
- Respect cultural sites, local communities, and traditional practices
- Refrain from disruptive behavior that interferes with others' experience
We reserve the right to remove participants whose behavior is inappropriate or disruptive, without refund.
7.2 Health and Safety
Participants must inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or mobility limitations that may affect their participation. Batik workshops involve working with hot wax and dyes. While we maintain safe working conditions, participants engage in activities at their own risk.
7.3 Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend participants obtain travel insurance covering medical expenses, trip cancellation, and personal belongings. coraliira is not responsible for medical costs, lost items, or travel disruptions.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Website Content
All website content, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is owned by coraliira or licensed for our use. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
8.2 Participant Creations
Batik pieces created during workshops remain the property of the participant who made them. However, traditional batik patterns and techniques taught during our retreats are part of Malaysian cultural heritage and cannot be claimed as original intellectual property.
8.3 Photography and Documentation
We may photograph or video record retreat activities for promotional purposes. By participating, you consent to such documentation. If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform us in writing before the retreat begins.
9. Limitation of Liability
9.1 Service Provision
While we strive to provide high-quality retreats, we make no warranties about specific outcomes or skill development. Batik artistry requires practice beyond our workshops, and individual results vary.
9.2 Third-Party Services
We work with accommodation providers, restaurants, and transportation services. While we select partners carefully, we are not liable for their actions or service quality beyond our reasonable control.
9.3 Maximum Liability
Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms is limited to the retreat fee you paid. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold coraliira, its instructors, and partners harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from your participation in retreats, violation of these terms, or infringement of third-party rights.
11. Privacy and Data Protection
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Malaysia Personal Data Protection Act 2010. By using our services, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
We do not share participant information with third parties except as necessary for retreat logistics or as required by law.
12. Modifications to Services
We reserve the right to modify retreat itineraries, substitute instructors, or adjust accommodations if necessary due to availability or unforeseen circumstances. Any significant changes will be communicated to booked participants as soon as possible.
Minor adjustments to timing, meal venues, or site visit sequences do not constitute material changes requiring participant consent.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
13.1 Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia.
13.2 Informal Resolution
Before pursuing legal action, we encourage participants to contact us directly to resolve concerns. Most issues can be addressed through open communication.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, along with our Privacy Policy and any booking confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and coraliira regarding retreat services. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions occasionally. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of modified terms. For participants with existing bookings, the terms in effect at the time of booking apply.
